Getting to Québec City by Air

Several airlines offer daily international flights to Canada, but few arrive directly in Québec City. Choose one arriving at either Toronto or Montreal, and make sure you get a connecting flight to Québec City. If arriving in Montreal, there is also a (minimal) bus service from Montreal Airport to Québec City. In case the waiting time for this bus is too long you may want instead to go downtown Montreal with a local city bus and then take a regular Montreal-Québec bus. There are frequent departures for these (schedule).

Air Transat also offers a very convenient direct Paris-Québec flight twice a week (Monday and Saturday) in Summer. These are very popular, so have to be booked early.

The most convenient way to get from the airport to Université Laval or to the hotels is by taxi. The ride is 25$ (flat rate) if going downtown (e.g. the Hôtel Château Laurier or the Manoir Lafayette) and should be around 20$ if going to the University, the Residences or the Hôtel Universel. If you are going to the Residences, don't forget to ask for "Pavillon Parent". That's where the reception desk for accommodation is.

Getting to Québec City by bus

There are two bus terminuses in Québec City: Sainte-Foy and Québec.

If you are going to the University, the Residences or the Hôtel Universel you should get off at the Sainte-Foy terminus (map). The terminus is about 2.5km away from the Campus. That's a walkable distance if you don't have much luggage but most of you will probably prefer to take a taxi (look for a special taxi telephone inside the terminus). You could also take a local city bus (line 800 for the Residences or downtown and line 13 for the Hôtel Universel).

If you are going to the Hôtel Château Laurier or the Manoir Lafayette you will be closer to your final destination if you choose the Québec terminus (map). From there, you can take a taxi or a bus (line 800) or a walk (a nice 2km promenade in the old city if you don't have much luggage and are willing to climb these kind of stairways).

Getting around during the conference

The cheapest way to get around in Québec City during the conference is by bus. For a map of the bus network and timetables, please visit the RTC website. Cost is 2.50$ per ride. Tickets and daily passes are also available. The campus is a 15 minute bus journey from the old City.
